Anatomy of a Tea Cosy commission, June 2010, FINITO!

Well, I feel it's finished!

The sides are hand-stitched together with a double layer of back and overcast stitch (using upholstery weight Gutermann thread), before the silk binding is stitched around the edges as the final touch.

I've used Hemp denim as the lining as its nice and durable and can withstand tea stains, etc! So here are the images....

THAT IS MAGNIFICENT!!! I luuurrvvvveee the HP bottle! xo

'scuse the following moment of insanity but I cant resist the good ones.... google's word verification word = "krugenth" and used in a sentence I imagine something along these lines "I would like a krugenth share of your pie to go with my lovely cup of tea please...." Ahh, google, you do make me laugh!

Thanks everyone...its been a bit of a mammoth effort to complete this cosy whilst being pregnant....I'm working so much more slowly at the moment, which I ought to enjoy really!! It means I get to feel I'm putting lots more into each piece I make and enjoy the whole creative process again! It can be quite tiring turning out a lot of work quickly....!

Thanks for all your feedback...and I wonder what my google word verification will be...??

As the commissioner of this fabulous teacosy I am thrilled to say it is gorgeous! The detailed stitching is amazing and I feel so happy every time I walk past and look at it (and turn it round depending on my mood!) A real work of art, thanks so much Tara for all the time and love you've put into it. Best wishes for the safe arrival of you baby.
